Crystal's high pressure access fittings from India are specialized piping arrangements that allow access internally to vessels of production plants and pipework being operated upon under full process conditions. For such access systems, the corrosion monitoring industry standard is based upon a nominal bore design of 2 inch. During operation along with a Retrieval Tool and Service Valve, high pressure access fittings allow the installation and retrieval of:
probes
coupon holders
sampling probes and chemical injection, nozzles and quills
These devices allow the installation and safe retrieval without plant shutdown, at working pressures of up to 3,600 psi.
Most frequently, high pressure access fittings are used in oil and gas production. In these kind of high pressure operations, users are reluctant to shut down and depressurize process systems to allow removal or installation of corrosion monitoring devices.
Fixed and retractable injection quills
The purpose of Injection quills is to introduce corrosive chemicals (medium to highly corrosive) into a pipeline without damaging the pipe wall or the side port at the exact point of injection.
Chemical injection quills ensure that there is an even dispersion of chemicals into the pipeline's center, which avoids channeling down the pipe wall of the chemical. Both the stinger and the body are constructed of materials that are chemical resistant alloys or plastics (Kynar, 316 SS, Hastelloy C-276 or PVC). Each injection quill unit of Crystal Industrial comes in total with an integral removable ball check with spring loaded, to avoid flow of the injected chemical passing into the main flow when the system is shut down.
In the past, chemical injection quills have been little more than a piece of tube extending into a pipe. This design is vulnerable to erosion-corrosion and cavitation in the piping due to vortex shedding and other hazards. Moreover, often these quills and the piping just downstream are not properly inspected. Due to which there have been numerous cases of damage to the piping just after these quills.
Crystal's chemical Injection Quills have a tapered shape which reduces the effects of vortex shedding, thus vastly reducing the likelihood of erosion-corrosion, cavitation, and quill fatigue cracking.
Each quill is custom designed for a specific application keeping in mind the vortex shedding, erosion, vibration, resonance and strength of the attachment to the pipe, according to ASME rules. The quill can be supplied with one or two root valves.
Crystal's Corrosion coupons from India are an efficient tool for quantitatively estimating the corrosion rates occurring in an operating system. They also offer a visual indication of the type of corrosion that may be occurring in the system being monitored. Today, corrosion coupons are the simplest and most widely used method of measuring corrosion.

What is a CORROSION COUPON?
Is essentially a piece of metal of a predetermined size, shape and surface area
Is a metal with chemical composition that's identical to that of the process equipment
Provides a uniform reproducible surface finish
Has a unique serial number
Is exposed to the same corrosive medium as the process equipmen
Is exposed to the corrosive medium for a fixed period of time
Gives visual indication of the type of corrosion
Indicates the rate of corrosion
Crystal's retrieval tool and service valve can be used to insert or retrieve corrosion monitoring devices and injection quill from process systems operating under full pressure (up to 600 bar or 8700 psi). It can be used to retrieve a variety of sensors from high pressure access system or any conventional 2-inch access system. The tool is pressure tested at the factory to 6000 to 9000 psi for a working pressure of 3600 psi to 8500 (253 kg/cm2). The standard tool and service valve are suitable for operation between 0°F and 450°F (-18°C and 232° C). For operation at temperatures between -50°F and 250°F (-46°C and 121 °C), a low temperature version of both the tool and the service valve is available. The difference between the low and standard temperature versions is in the use of seal materials appropriate for each temperature range. The tool size or length of insertion is determined by the combined maximum pipeline size and the maximum height of any access fitting assembly with which the tool will be used. The length is defined as the distance that the plug/sensor assembly must travel to permit the service valve to close.
Crystal's retrieval tool is designed to operate strictly under mechanical principles, and the number of turns to completely seat or retract a component is a known constant. This allows the operator to have complete control over installation or removal, and is a distinct advantage over other models of retriever / access systems.
